        Thursday, February 23rd "Picturing Movement"
        6:00 - 8:00pm at THEA Center - 401 Main Street, Argenta
        Art showcase to benefit Ballet Arkansas. Showcase will feature original paintings by Argenta artist Doug Gorrell inspired by the Ballet Arkansas professional company members. Enjoy wine & cheese as well as mini-performances as you shop visual art to support performance art. 
        Saturday, February 25th Dance Coalition hosts 7th Annual "So you think you know how to dance?" Competition & Fundrasier
        Dancers may register for the competition by visiting www.dancecoalition.com, and registering by Tuesday, February 21, 2012. Cost to register is only $25 for solos or duos. Groups add $5 per additional person. Entries
         are limited to 25 juniors (ages 7 – 13) and 25 seniors (ages 14 – adult). A duo or group is considered a single entry, and dancers may compete as both a solo and in a group if they would like.

        Appetizer Hour and Silent Auction Tickets (which include premium seating for the competition) are $25 and General Admission for the competition is only $10. Tickets will be available for purchase at the door on the day of the event or by visiting www.dancecoalition.com.

        March

        Due March 1 - Creative Capital provides integrated financial and advisory support to artists pursuing innovative and adventurous projects. Acting as a catalyst for the development of exceptional and imaginative ideas, we support artists whose work is provocative, timely and relevant; who are deeply engaged with their art forms and demonstrate a rigorous commitment to their craft, yet are also boldly original and push the boundaries of their genre; who create work that carries the potential to reshape the cultural landscape. Selected grantees receive up to $50,000 in direct support and a suite of services valued at more than $40,000.

        To be eligible to apply, an artist must be:
        * A U.S. citizen or permanent legal resident
        * At least 25 years old
        * A working artist with at least five years of professional experience
        * Not a full-time student.
